Historic daggers

About DAGGRS

DAGGRS is a specialist service solely about historic collector daggers. Here you can read who runs it, how we work and how you can judge our statements.

Who runs DAGGRS, and how does the service work?

DAGGRS is operated by DGDE GmbH, which also runs the shop DG.DE | Historica. We work exclusively online: you send photos, we reply with an individual assessment, if you are interested we agree on the terms, and the shipment is arranged.

Who is behind it

DAGGRS is a service of DGDE GmbH. The company also runs the online shop DG.DE | Historica. DAGGRS is not a second shop but a specialist service solely about daggers: identifying, understanding value and selling.

The provider details are in the legal notice. You will find the current range and reviews at DG.DE: dagger range at DG.DE (external site) and reviews at DG.DE (external site).

How we work

DAGGRS is an online-only service. A visit to us is not planned; everything runs through photos and shipping.

  1. Step 1: You send photos

Use the contact channels of DG.DE and include a few details about your piece.

  2. Step 2: We reply

With an individual assessment. Follow-up questions and further photos are possible.

  3. Step 3: We agree

If you want to sell, we agree the terms with you.

  4. Step 4: The shipment is arranged

How the piece gets to us, we work out together with you.

What we promise and what we do not

  • The initial assessment is free of charge and non-binding.
  • It is based on your photos. It is neither a guarantee of authenticity nor a formal expert opinion.
  • A written expert opinion is a separate, paid service of DG.DE: expert opinion at DG.DE (external site).
  • On the guide pages we do not state prices, because a value can only be judged on the individual piece.

How we handle specialist information

Specialist pages on DAGGRS name their sources and say what kind of source each one is: museum, auction house, dealer, reference work, conservation institute or DG.DE itself. Where we only have a weak source, this is stated.

We do not invent features or prices. The identification key only knows daggers whose features we can document, and then shows possible matches, not identifications.

We accept reports of errors through the contact page. We check them and correct the page if they are confirmed.
